Comments | Boy did we have a ball today. Yesterday’s storm dropped just under 10” of fluffy snow. On a ride up with a patroller he admitted that most of the natural terrain had been fried by the previous thaw and rain, and that some of the trails were bony underneath. Jane Craig, Lower Professor, Lower Tightline, Golden Smelt (via Doodlebug), Lower Peachy’s and Green Hornet were great for natural. Parmachenee wasn’t bad, but had some puckerbrush and other debris sneaking out. Royal Coachman got beat down real fast, hope they can save it in tonight’s grooming. Blue Devil had great snow! Tightline was great first two runs top to bottom, but the headwall got scratched down pretty quickly so the next time we used Firefly to access it. We played on the lower beginner areas for two runs, Lower Green Hornet was fun and natural, the other was Hornberg by the new A-Frames which hadn’t seen much activity at all. One regular told us it was the busiest day he had seen. At times the lines on either side of the Rangeley quad stretched beyond the ropes, but still moved along. The beginner chair had no one on our first run down to it, the next ride I would be bold enough to say we waited almost 20 minutes to load not including of course the almost 10 minute ride. Not sure what happened. Summit quad never took more than a couple minutes to get through the gate and load. | |
