Comments | Early corduroy was very soft and quickly turned to spring like conditions quickly with lots of clumping. Almost forgot how heavy that stuff can become. Keep 'em on edge and your fine. Smith Walton upper was closed early on while ski patrol installed safety netting along the trail edges, must be some kind of race this weekend. Upper SW was opened about 10AM. I believe Challenger got closed in the PM but I wasn't there. Conifer had been heavily skied by uphill crowd even before the lifts opened so it was rutted and clumped from the get go. Mid mtn trails, with the exception of Piece of Cake, were spring like by the time we ventured over there. To ski POC you need to do a little hiking so it is always in great shape with no one on it besides you and your buddies. Always take the time to enjoy 3-4 runs on it each day, just a gem of a trail. Temps didn't get to low last night so it is going to be very spring like at WaWa for the next couple days. Don't forget the sunscreen. I hate warm sunny days, they just remind me that we are in the home stretch. |
