Moguls | Moguls formed on all ungroomed runs. Low-angle moguls on Kinderspiel were fun, good if you're new to ungroomed terrain. |

Comments | First chair on Red and Green at 8:30 with about 2 inches of powder down from the previous night. There were flurries until around noon when the snow stopped, but the sky stayed gray. Harsh humid wind from the north made for a pretty cold one, despite temps not being too low compared to what we've seen throughout January.
Still a good amount of snow left over from the MLK storm, although cover is getting pretty thin and 3 trails (Wardrobe, Red Line, Green Line) have closed since last weekend. Moguls formed on the non-snowmaking runs, fun if you're good with some rocks and roots. Talisman was getting heavy snowgun action all last week and has a sizeable base now, locking it in for spring skiing.
Due to heavy snowmaking and a dry winter, the pond has gotten near empty and the pipes started getting silt in them. Once the pond naturally refills snowmaking operations will continue, with more snow (and more features) planned for the terrain park. More sparse groomed runs like Lower Wizard might see snowmaking as well if I had to guess. |
