Comments | Today was like mid week skiing used to be like. No crowds, no lines. Nobody was "working from home" at the mountain. School kids appeared to be at school. Not like last year. Just the typical midweek skiers showed up. Since my last visit some of the East Basin trails opened up. Angel Street, Basin Street, Cant Dog. Also Lower Northstar and Lower Speakeasy opened with ungroomed natural snow coverage. Snow conditions were mostly groomed packed powder. Lower Speakeasy was the ROTD. Natural ungroomed snow with only a small area of thin coverage. Snowmaking guns and hoses were set up on Upper Flume and at the entrance to the Brookway extension. Looks like they are preparing to make some snow soon. Weather: Temperature was 4° at opening, warmed up to 20° after noon. Full sunshine and great visibility all day. No wind. | |
