Session SessionMorning
Lift Ticket Ticket TypeIndy Pass
Lift Lines Lift Lines0 minutes
Snow Trail Conditions100% open; Packed Powder, Loose Granular
Glades GladesThe glades off Lower East Wind/Blast were fully covered/opened (snowmaking). East Wind-Duster glades were thin. Blizzard glades were somewhat thin, but noted some folks skiing them (top entrance closed).
Moguls MogulsVortex bumps were still kind of big, but man made powder. Hurricane bumps were also big with lots of frozen granular (edgable) with some man made powder in between.
Terrain Park Terrain Park(s)Did not venture over to the parks in the Valley complex. Large whales in place on the F5 Terrain Park.
Run of the Day Run of the DayVortex
Food and Beverage Food and BeverageMask mandate, so I did not enter the lodge and thus did not eat lunch there. Looks like there's a food truck option on weekends. Hopefully they drop the mandates.
Comments CommentsPats is 100% open, with wall to wall coverage and reasonable base depth. Two triples running on the front side this morning with Cascade Basin opening at 10.

Twister and FIS skied great first thing before the race courses were set. Tornado and Cyclone were also good. Hurricane (ungroomed) was scratchy, but doable. Vortex has recently opened, so the surface was man-made packed powder. Nice to finally ski some ungroomed steeps (hard to find open expert terrain in New England right now).

Cascade Basin was a nice side trip. The runs are pretty short, but it's sort of like having a separate, uncrowded small ski area. Nice variety of trails in the pod.

Temperatures were in the 20s, but it felt cold with clouds and snow flurries. Other than when racers queued up, there were no lift lines. Easy to rack up a lot of runs with the loading carpet triple.

Pats Peak has an indoor mask mandate, which is disappointing, but one can currently ski there without having to wear one. There are windows set up at the guest services area, so the ticket can be obtained outdoors. There is a portable bathroom at the bottom of the Peak Triple that does not require masks. There are also some pod things on the deck that seem to have heaters.

Only my second time skiing somewhere with a mask mandate this season (I try to avoid areas with mask mandates and will not go to any areas that have employee vaccine mandates).
