Food and Beverage | My daughter got chicken tenders and fries from the Governor Adams Lodge. The lodge was crowded with other diners and race families. We ate in the car. Don't like going into the lodge more than I have to because they require mask wearing. It's not enforced, but still I'd rather not go in more than I have to until they can drop the policy.
Comments | Arrived in Lincoln at 7:45 and found traffic backed up from the edge of town to Loon. Parked in the River lot near the Kanc lodge. Just as we arrived it started to sleet and freezing rain. The temperature was 23° so it froze on contact. The weather forecast had called for snow at the mountain, with freezing rain staying to the South. The roads were ok when we came up but we heard reports that they were iced over shortly after, with lots of accidents. Skied the West Basin and North Peak trails. The snow conditions were pretty good overall, but there were icy sections on Upper Walking Boss, Flume, Sunset, and Bear Claw Extension. Visibility was not too good as our goggles kept getting iced up. The Kanc8 with the bubble down was a good play today. The parking structure also kept us dry while waiting to load the lift. Rumrunner and Coolidge Street were closed for racing. Upper Speakeasy opened since my last visit, the snow there was in the best condition. The lift lines were not too bad today. I think the freezing rain kept many folks in the lodge.
