Comments | Showed up early and for first chairs. Redeemed a buddy pass, $59 and they gave me the remaining five passes to hold. All open trails had a one or two inch coating of powder, which made it silky and fun. The crunch was underneath where the wet granular had frozen post groom. It was still edge-able, and the combination of soft powder made you work the first few runs until it skied down. Spear peak didn’t open until 11:00. We understood there was a lot of ice build up at the top terminal where the grip detector was. Finally they got it running, and we got some of the first runs on Flying Yankee. Conditions were much better for this trail, as it had been groomed last, and that new powder had been mixed in. |
