Comments CommentsSix pack and Barnyard were running to start the day. Tremendous conditions for the first few runs, as a couple of inches of powder had fallen after they groomed last night. A little choppier later on, but not terrible (should groom out nicely).

From the top, there was Blueberry Patch, Upper Ridge, Headwall, and Upper Crew Cut. All were pretty much wall to wall and in good shape.

Below there, there was Wildside (race training on one side), Lower Chute, and Newfound Ridge, the latter two emptying into Main Street. Pretty close to wall to wall coverage.

Barnyard was close to fully covered (one side is still partially closed, but with large snowmaking whales staged above it) and had fantastic snow (groomed after the snow fall), and yes, you can already ski through the barn. Also noted a small zip line has been installed near the bottom (and the old tubing slope above it looks to be fading away).

Spear Mountain was delayed for a few hours due to icing (lots of start/stops with the lift running in reverse before they could open it). When it did open (around 11), Flying Yankee was groomed wall to wall and was awesome. We made two quick runs there, then called it a morning, as that side was getting busy with only one trail open. Showboat has a line of snowmaking whales, but I suspect they need a little bit more from the gully up to get it open. Did not see any signs of snowmaking on Cardigan from afar.

Somewhat brisk morning under mostly cloudy skies and some wind. Busy at times due to the limited terrain, but not crowded. Employees were very friendly.
