Comments | Since I last visited Suicide Six in 2014, two out of three of their lifts have been replaced. Other than that, the ski area has mostly stayed the same. While the new covered magic carpet is nice for beginners, I do miss the J-bar it replaced. The new quad is very modern with plush padding on the chairs, flat plastic footrests, multiple handles to pull the bar down with, and a safety bar made out of aluminum to reduce weight. From the summit, they had four options open, Easy Mile, Bunny's Boulevard, Skyline, and Face (via Mid-Face). The snow was hard packed granular, but they did a good job grooming, and it was very edgable for most of the day. Bunny's and Skyline had whales from the previous night's snowmaking, with some thin spots in between the whales. They seem to be making snow pretty aggressively to build base on open trails and expand terrain. Their lodge has got to be one of the nicest around with it's seating area with high ceilings and lots of natural light. While their weekend lift ticket prices are prohibitively expensive, midweek tickets are a pretty good deal, especially when purchased in advance. If you haven't been, it's definitely a ski area worth checking out, especially when there's good natural snow. |
