Comments | The $25 March lift ticket price made this a very good value today and was the determining factor in making my decision. 4 distinct routes on Winslow and 2 distinct routes on Holt. Holt was good with fresh corduroy first thing in the morning, though skier traffic soon revealed underlying ice and boilerplate. Worden is one of the best trails in New Hampshire in my opinion and was a lot of fun today, especially with no racers. Upper Gauntlet was good, but a bit narrow/icy where it emptied into Lower Meck and to the top of the steep slope at the bottom. I don't know if this trail will survive next week's temperatures. Snow was made in the last few days at the top and bottom of the chairlift. Winslow was basically two trails expanding into four. MBA was scratchy in places. Upper Chivers to Pass Fail had large whales from recent snowmaking, but was scratchy in places. Lower Chivers is already on its last legs and probably won't survive a day or two of warm temperatures. Lower Thomas was the run of the day with good loose granular conditions. Despite the $25 tickets, the area was still relatively empty. Perhaps a person on every 20th chair on Holts. Winslow had people on perhaps 25 percent of the chairs, but mainly kids programs and a PSIA event. Also not much activity on either of the carpet lifts. | |
