Comments | Lifts Running: Gondola, East Basin Double, North Peak Quad. The lift attendant at the gondola asked people in the group line if they wanted to let any singles ride with them. Many wanted to ride alone, hence the wait line was much longer than necessary. The North Peak and the East Basin lifts had short lines. Trails Open: Exodus, Bear Claw Extension, Upper Bear Claw, Flying Fox, Crosscut, Seven Brothers, Sunset, Haulback, and Lower Walking Boss. Snow Conditions: Yesterdays soft snow firmed up overnight. There was 5" of new snow, but most of it got blown around. There was active snowmaking on sections of every open trail, which tended to ice up my goggles. Weather: Snowed lightly all morning with a cold wind from the North. Temperature was in the upper 20's. Arrived early and skied for the morning. Took the Gondola up and then skied off the North Peak and East Basin lifts. From the Loon Summit you could take Exodus to Bear Claw or Flying Fox. You could also ski off the back side of the summit to Bear Claw Extension or take Haulback to Lower Walking Boss. From the North Peak you had to take Sunset. The only way to access Flying Fox was from the Loon Summit as the shortcut from Picked Rock is not open yet. I came down for an early lunch and saw a HUGE line at the Gondola so I called it for the day. | |
