Comments | Arrived at the mountain at 6:30, which is now called 7:30. Yeah, just as we were starting to get some good morning light at first chair they took it away from us.... Booted up outside in the middle of a heavy snow squall. A couple of inches had already fallen by first chair. Snowed heavily until around 10:30. Intermittent snow squalls continued for the rest of the day, for a total of 5". Temperature stayed below freezing all day. Skied the West Basin, North Peak, and Loon Peak. Lift lines were not very long today, but as usual I did not take the gondola. Not a fan of taking my skis off and waiting in a long line. Took the East Basin lift a few times to access Angel Street, which was in decent shape. Upper Walking Boss skied nicely in the AM with quite a bit of powder. Upper Flume was almost a complete white out at times in the AM with heavy wind blown snow straight up the trail. Sunset also had a stiff wind blowing straight up the trail. Other than those two trails the wind was not too bad. Lift operations were not affected. Big Dipper skied really nice in the AM. It was open from below Cant Dog. It collected quite a bit of wind blown snow. Not many folks noticed how good it was so it didn't get tracked out for a while. Most ungroomed natural snow trails were closed today. Overall today far exceeded my expectations! | |
