Comments | NH vacation this week, but it wasn’t unbearable by any means. You waited a couple minutes in line, or chose the next run based on how crowded one lift was over the other. Lift attendants on the six pack were doing great losing the chairs quickly. Trails were very firm. They were edge-able most of the time, with only a few patches of true boiler plate. The warmer temps yesterday were most likely fun, but when it came to grooming it was still too wet before it set up. Run outs from Showboat and Flying Yankee were tricky and fast. Race training in the first couple hours on Showboat, but they did a good job slipping the snow back down after. Banked curves on Lower Chute were great fun, set up nicely without too much crust. Village Green and Cardigan were probably the softest trails, but skier’s right of Village Green was hard and fast if you weren’t prepared. The borderline between setting your edge and having it slip out from underneath you. Snow report had said that a few glades, natural trails and the backside were open...they were not. We got bored and tired of the windy, slick conditions quickly. It was not the “crowds†that sent us home. | |
