Comments | Skied on the West Basin and North Peak trails today. North Peak trails were nice packed powder. Walking Boss was the ROTD. It was in great shape, I made multiple passes on it. There were nice sections of wind blown powder on skiers right of the trail. Sunset, Picked Rock, and Flying Fox were also in great shape. Flume was ok but was not as soft. Cant Dog is now open off of the Haulback trail, but it was really slick at the end where it connects to Angel Street. Newly opened Angel Street and Basin Street skied ok but were firmer than the other trails, so I did not repeat them. The West Basin trails were somewhat firm in the morning, but they softened up really nice in the afternoon when I gave most of them a second pass. Upper Rumrunner to Coolidge Street skied especially nicely in the afternoon. All West Basin trails except Upper Speakeasy and Upper Northstar are open, the same as on my last visit. Did not ski at South Peak or off the Gondola Summit today. The Kank Quad and North Peak Quad were ski on except for a couple of times of less than a minute wait. Weather: The temperature started out in the teens and warmed up to the upper twenties in the afternoon. Mostly sunny all day providing good visibility on the trails. Wind was not a factor today. | |
