Comments | It's been 8 or 9 years since I've skied at Camden Snow Bowl and last time I was there the summit lift was still the T-bar. It's like a whole new ski area now with a completely new fleet of lifts including the refurbished double (originally from Bald Mountain in Dedham) and the refurbished triple (originally from Shawnee Peak). Unfortunately, because of the lack of snow, relatively warm temperatures, and a power issue earlier this week has kept them from opening the triple. However they did have every snowmaking trail open from the double with a good base on every trail. They said that they're hoping to get the summit open by Monday. The skiing was excellent and it never got scraped off all day. The day started with no lift lines, but they got longer as kids started to arrive after school. The employees there are some of the nicest around, and the lifties were quick to strike up conversation. Camden has the safest COVID protocols that I've seen to date. Everything except rentals is done outside and there is no lodge access. They had staff checking everyone in the lift lines for masks and compliance was 100% as far as I saw. We had an excellent day and Camden is worth a visit, especially if you haven't been in a while! We hope to return when the summit is open. | |
