Comments | Yesterday we visited Hermon Mountain for some night skiing. The mountain is only open from 4-8 on weekdays, but the trails are well-lit and there's a good amount of terrain open for night skiing. Every night skiing trail was open except for Cloud Nine, but they hope to have that open by next week. Lakeview and the lower part of Longview were open with natural snow only, but they had surprisingly good cover and it seems like Hermon got more snow in the last storm than the ski areas in the Western Mountains. The snow was excellent packed powder and the crowds were not bad at all. I always love watching the sunset while skiing at this time of day, and the views from Hermon didn't disappoint.
Hermon had the best COVID compliance of any ski area I've visited so far this season. There was only one person I saw who wasn't wearing a mask when appropriate. There wasn't any eating allowed in the lodge, but it was open for changing and warming up. The lodge never got very busy and this was the first time that we've changed inside at a ski area we visited this season.
Hermon is an excellent mountain for its size and I always enjoy the classic Stadeli double. With a top ticket price of $30, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! |
