Comments | Skied North Peak, and the West Basin today. Overall snow conditions were good. Started out at the Kanc quad base and skied over to North Peak. Walking Boss had snowmaking top to bottom, so I skipped it. Upper Flume was decent, but had a moderate wind blowing straight up the trail. Lower Flume still had some small chopped up frozen granular. Sunset was nice, but also had moderate wind. Upper Picked Rock, Flying Fox, and Bear Claw were good. New trails recently opened: Upper Speakeasy, Bear Pause, Rolling Bear, and Dropline. Snowmaking was active in the trail runout area near Camp III. The West Basin area trails skied nicely, and the snow was slightly softer. All trails were groomed nicely. Upper Rumrunner is now open. Snowmaking was active in the trail confluence area near the base. Weather: Temperature stayed in the twenties. It was mostly sunny, but the sun is still at a low angle. Mask enforcement was ongoing. At one point two Ski Patrollers were posted at the entrance to the Kanc lift rope lines to ensure that masks were up before entering the maze. | |
