Comments | Snow conditions were great in the morning as usual, with some really nice corduroy, with a firm base and some soft stuff on top in the afternoon. Now having more blue runs off the top, the summit trails were in a lot better condition, and not as crowded. No lines for the first hour or so, but that started to change around 9:30. Sunapee Express had about a 15min wait on the trail side and a 10min wait on the lodge side for most of the day. Unfortunately, today they had the place where you could cross to the other side blocked off, but I just skated to the other side because the line was shorter. North Peak was actually pretty short all day, maybe 5 or so min. Apparently, people finally figured out that Sunbowl exists as well, and that had about a 10-15min line. Spruce didn't have a line all day, though it only had 1/4 of a trail open off of it, as the other 3/4 was reserved for the race team.
The weather was cold, maybe only barely reaching 32 at the base. Sunny in the early morning, which turned to clouds, and later in the afternoon it became very foggy, and visibility was very low especially on the upper mountain. They were making snow all day on Skyway and Eastside. They also had the guns out on Liftline, so maybe they were just waiting for the mountain to close. |
