Comments | Skied North Peak, Loon Peak, and the West Basin today. The snow was soft and bumpy today.
It snowed overnight. It was free refills until about 10:15, then it continued to snow lightly for the rest of the day. It was of the heavier variety so it's going to stick to the trails and not blow off into the woods. Loon reported a total of 7" from this storm. Thankfully it was all snow!
Upper Walking Boss got bumped up by 9:00. Sunset got bumped up about an hour or so later. Soft snow and bumps everywhere. As is typical on snow days Loon groomed the green trails like Bear Claw and Grand Junction last so they were the smoothest. The East Basin Double was open, with no line all morning, so we took a bunch of runs on it after the North Peak Express got backed up. It's a slow lift, but that gave our legs some recovery time as these runs required much more effort. Also took a few runs off the Seven Brothers Triple, there was no line there either when we took our runs. Did not take the Gondola, so no idea how that line was. Took a few runs in the West Basin after lunch. The lift was ski on. But by then the snow was really soft and bumped up over there so we called it. Tomorrow the new snow should be all groomed in and I expect it will be a great day. |
