Comments | Not much change in trail count since last weekend. Loon only received about 5" from this weeks storm. Lifts Open: Gondola, Seven Brothers Triple, North Peak Quad, and the Kanc Quad. Trails Skied: Blue Ox, Rampasture, Lower Northstar, Upper Rumrunner, Coolidge Street, Walking Boss, Sunset, Haulback, Upper Picked Rock, Flying Fox, Bear Claw, Grand Junction, and The Link, The trails were well groomed, but with the cold weather the snow was firm and got skied off in the usual spots. Lower Picked Rock is not open yet, but all the snow tower guns were blasting on it all day. Also snowmaking was going full blast over on South Peak. Flume was closed, but I saw several folks duck the ropes and give it a go. Lift lines were long, but social distancing was maintained. There is a 6' area roped off between each lift line to separate them. Also lift staff was very vigilant about calling out no mask or improper mask wearing (below the nose). They walked up and down between the lines at times and did not let anyone slide. Also noted that there are no singles lines, and no grouping of two singles at opposite sides of the quad as some other places are doing. If you arrive together you can ride together is posted at the lifts. The weather was cold; 0° to start, warming up to 25° in the afternoon. Sunny all day with no wind so it wasn't too bad. Observed some sort of a structure going up on the deck of Camp III, possibly a warming hut. Folks seem to be adapting well to booting up in the parking lot at their vehicles. Bring a chair and possibly a doormat to cover the snow while you change shoes. In the afternoon some folks were tailgating at their vehicles, but I don't think they want too much of that to go on. | |
