Comments | Temp was below freezing to start, but warmed up quickly under the nearly full sunshine. All trails except for Ropers Road are still open. The snow conditions were firm and fast at first chair, which is at 7:30 on the weekends. There is still good coverage on most of the trails even with the rain yesterday. By 11 the snow had softened up nicely except for the shady areas. Smith Walton and 10'th Mountain skied really nice in the afternoon, made laps on those two. Conifer Connection was in good shape too. Even Balance Rock still has good snow coverage. There are some icy spots, but nothing that can't be avoided. The skier turnout today was low for Wachusett weekend standards. Lift lines were mostly ski on. In the lodge some of the tables and chairs were removed to space everyone out. Staff were cleaning doors, tables, counters, etc, frequently. The skiing is still good, but many areas are shutting down early. So get out and enjoy it before it all shuts down. | |
