Session | Full Day |
Ticket Type | Season Pass |
Lift Lines | 3 to 5 minutes |
Trail Conditions | 100% open; Powder, Packed Powder |
Glades | Soft snow in the Eden glade off of Lower Snowball. I highly recommend this glade as it is very open and clear. |
Moguls | Moguls were firm but had a layer of soft powder over them which helped with some of the ice earlier in the day. By the end of the day, the powder was scraped out of the troughs so it was icier. |
Terrain Park(s) | A large park with quite a few features was set up on Reimergasse. Other than this there isn't much in the way of parks except for Slowpoke which lacks features and is in a horrible location. |
Run of the Day | Spillsville + Organgrinder (both were great) |
Food and Beverage | Grilled Cheese at Walt's (top of GMX) |
Comments | It was an awesome powder day on Saturday. Things started in the morning with every trail having an amazing blanket of about 1-4 inches on top of it. The deepest powder could be found off of the Heaven's Gate Triple as it was closed the day prior. This meant that none of the natural terrain was skied off. Organgrinder had about 5 or so inches on it at around 9:00 AM. I started the day at Lincoln and on that side until about 10:15 when I rode Slide Brook over to Ellen. I skied at Ellen until about 2:00 and then went back over to Lincoln. Lincoln was more scraped off by then but still had pretty good conditions. Other than at Gate House, the lift lines weren't too long. I was surprised to see the lack of crowds at Ellen. I finished the day at the summit of Lincoln and skied down Spillsville around 4:10. This was a great trail to end the day with as it still had a decent amount of powder still left on it. I would've liked to have skied Castlerock since they groomed it, but I saved that for the next day. Also, Brambles was open which doesn't happen very often. It skied great. |
