Comments CommentsWaited for the rain to clear before I drove over. Wind picked up quickly. Started as smooth, buttery, frosting-like surface then went to chunks very quickly. Initially really fun finding places that had not been marked by skis, but, then the wind began blowing all the new snow (there was maybe an inch of fresh snow) off and leaving ice in places. Showboat was riding really nice, as was Cardigan and Lower Ridge/Pines. I am surprised they didn't have to put the Spear lift on wind hold - the wind was ALMOST unbearable. Could barely stand it, and the Spear Lift had many fewer riders than the 6-pack which had more wind-sheltering.

All in all, a very pleasant afternoon but things just got too firm and windy so I called it a day just shy of 2 hours on the board.
