Glades | Kind of mysterious - I went into 1 or 2 but didn't have goggles on and I was afraid of the spindly spruce poking my eyes out. Other "glades" weren't really glades - they didn't have trees but they were ungroomed - ? |

Comments | A bit of a disappointment. My first time here and I was so excited to visit!!! I kept checking the trail/lift report the day before (also a weekday) and the summit double was open. Then, when I got there, the summit double wasn't running. I even asked at the ticket counter, and the nice man seemed a bit confused. Looked like decent coverage from the top but who knows. I was really hoping to go to the top. I attempted to hike up but when I started to posthole in the deep snow, I put my board on and descended instead. Trails were very fun - I liked the network and had fun trying to figure out how to get to certain trails. I think I did all the (open) black diamonds but may have missed something. Was really great once things softened up as there is A LOT ungroomed. Unfortunately, I went down Maple Glades (not really glades at all - just a few really big sugar maples in the middle of a field) and the brush was really tall - I had some trouble turning and had to get out ASAP. Spring snow was just a bit challenging - you have to be ready to really slow down when the snow gets mushy in certain areas and not others. Overall, I liked the trails but the whole place just seemed a bit depressing. Ski patrol was very friendly, however. |
