Comments | 60 of 61 Trails, and 7 of 10 Lifts were open today. (East Basin, Seven Brothers, and Little Sister were closed) The temperature was 21° at opening, rose to 30° by mid afternoon. Snowing lightly during the AM. The snow changed into a freezing mist after noon. Yesterdays powder was groomed into packed powder today. Snow conditions were superb on all of the trails today. Light snow fell all morning. The snow switched over to a freezing mist starting around noon time, and visibility became poor. The transition started at the higher elevations of North Peak, but within an hour or so had reached the base. The snow was so good that I wanted to stay all day, but due to the low visibility from the fog and freezing mist I had to pack it in after 2. Lower Speakeasy was in great shape and was a lot of fun to ski on today. This trail is narrow and winding, and often can be icy. But today it was great, so I rated it as the trail of the day. The J.E Henry Railroad was closed for maintenance today. Not sure why this really needs to run during the week anyway. | |
