Comments | Loon has definitely stepped up their game on snowmaking. With the past thaws and rains they have maintained very palatable conditions. Some trails were firmer than others, the rest open were pretty good. Snowmaking shutdown Speakeasy top to bottom, but with good reason when they reopen. Some snowmaking on Lower Walking Boss. The park crew was working on Loon Mountain Park to set some rails, their half pipe was a lot of fun. North Peak was on great shape compared to late December/early January. Great frozen granular, fun turns and good control. South Peak was AWESOME. Ripsaw was still jammin just before lunch, the two blue cruisers was in fantastic shape. The upper portion of Jabber and Twitcher required control, but the lower portions were great. East Basin trails were in good shape, Angel Street had firm conditions in the morning, but the afternoon was more forgiving, although with more flat light. Basin Street was good as well. Kanc complex had food conditions with the exception of Rampasture. Lower Picked Rock was okay, but had its patches. Upper Northstar is open, had good conditions. Race training on Coolidge Street but what never closed. Lower Rumrunner was in great condition. A lot of lessons going on there. | |
