Session | Full Day | |
Ticket Type | Season Pass
Lift Lines | 0 minutes | |
Trail Conditions | 75% open; Loose Granular, Frozen Granular
Glades | None were open today
Moguls | Didn't come across any. Probably would be toast anyway.
Terrain Park(s) | Four parks were open. Loon Mountain Park was closed for a complete makeover. They are cutting in the Superpipe. Some features are set up on Dropline. Did not partake.
Run of the Day | Seven Brothers
Food and Beverage | Camp III was closed today. Only the lower level was open for restroom use. I brought my own food today. It's interesting to note that Loon has microwave ovens in their base lodges. Most other ski resorts I frequent do not. This opens up many possible options for hot food brought from home.
Comments | 43 of 61 Trails, and 8 of 10 Lifts were open today. Did not encounter a line at any lift including the gondola. The temperature stayed in the mid 20's today. No sun today. Some rime ice and freezing drizzle at higher elevations in the morning. After lunch there was freezing drizzle all the way to the base. The resulting poor visibility led me to pack it in around 2. As luck would have it as soon as I packed up it changed over to all snow... Recovery mode is in effect. The snow condition was much better than I expected. A lot of the carnage was groomed over and covered up. Snow making was active all over North Peak. I stayed away from the snow making trails. Rode the lift with several Cannon employees today. The chairlift chatter was that Cannon took quite a hit from this weekend's monsoon, and is in rough shape. They said it was closed yesterday. Hoping for sustained cold weather from now on!
