Comments | 45 of 61 Trails, and 8 of 10 Lifts were open today. Did not encounter a line at any lift including the gondola. The temperature reached the 50's again today. Some fog and drizzle in the morning, but it was partly cloudy in the afternoon. The snow condition took a big hit from last night's monsoon rain. North Peak was especially hard hit. Upper Flume was closed. Walking Boss has a lot of areas with thin coverage. Skiers left on Sunset is mostly gone. On Loon Peak Bear Claw Extension is in rough shape, could barely make it through the narrow curved section. Picked Rock and Flying Fox have a lot of carnage. The first section of Upper Speakeasy is closed. Most of the West Basin trails survived without too much damage though. Lower Speakeasy had thin coverage in some areas, and most of the trail was littered with pieces of chopped up branches that must have gone through the groomer. Rumrunner was still in nice shape. Coolidge Street was closed for racing. The Governor Adams Lodge was very crowded with racers and their families. There was not much room left for anyone else. Had I known I would have gone to the Octogon Lodge, or South Peak instead. Other than the racers there weren't many other folks out skiing today. | |
