Comments CommentsTook advantage of the uphill pass (was $5) that lets you take 1 ride on the lift after you reach the top. Got 2nd to last chair - YAY. Anyway, by skinning uphill, I noticed other trails that I had not before. There are a lot of little surprises here. Coverage wasn't great - lots of dirt showing so I would stick to the less-used trails at the far left or far right and you're OK - I think there was a warning at the lift but I didn't read it.

NO ROPES - everything was open, which meant time to venture into (and revisit from previous years) Forget-Me-Not. Very light tracks which solidified the spring snow and cut down on the friction from the spring conditions. A couple reverse grades and lots of animal tracks. You definitely get that pleasant feeling of isolation and possibly not getting found until spring if something goes horribly wrong there hahahahah. Had to get off the board a couple times but the flats don't go on forever. The payoff is the ledgy descent and the steepest (in my opinion) descent pitch of the resort. Lots of new brush cutting on the steep section so there were a lot of tree stubs. On the steeps I really could only side-slip as I was afraid I'd catch an edge on the stubble if I turned. A few more inches of snow will fix that.

Uphill route not entirely clear though they do provide a map. I tried to stay on the route but got confused at the many intersections and it wasn't a big deal once I noticed I was on Pitcher. Super fun.

Thanks Tenney for a good uphill policy!!!!
