Comments | 49 of 61 Trails, and 9 of 10 Lifts were open today. Lift line wait time is not counting the gondola. Coolidge Street was closed for a race. The temperature reached the 50's today. Lots of fog in the morning, but there was no precipitation until 3:45 PM! The weather forecast was wrong for today! Lets hope they are wrong again for tomorrow! The snow condition was on the firm side to start out due to rain yesterday setting up overnight in the cold snow. Bare spots were spotted on Sunset, Flying Fox, and Boom Run. Skied a couple of runs off the Kank quad to start out. Then took the gondola once to access Angel Street, it was worth the wait! Then went to North Peak. There was light fog at lower elevation, and dense fog at the summit. Visibility was so low at the top of the North Peak lift that one couldn't see beyond the next chair. Went to South Peak to escape the fog, and it really paid off! Good visibility, soft snow, and nobody was there! Skied Ripsaw for the first time this season, and it was in great shape! One of the issues with the new automated gates turns out to be that New England Passes issued by Sunday River or Sugarloaf do not contain a RFID chip. Pass holders from these other mountains need to have their pass reissued at Loon in order to access the lifts. | |
