Comments | Quiet now that the holiday break is over. A few college kids and random hooligans but otherwise a dull roar. Spear Peak had the best conditions compared to the main mountain. Showboat was still in fine condition post lunch, and Cardigan was a nice cruise. Wasn't sure how Showboat would be considering I had made my first run straight greens on the main mountain. Couldn't help but lap it a few times! The main mountain showed plenty of use, and had some decent patches of white ice and boiler plate. First tracks probably would have been great, but I am sure it skied down quickly. All trails leaving the summit had gotten pretty slick, and all diamonds open were pretty much a skating rink - unless you had good aim for the small piles of snow. Or maybe if you're a great sides skier. Chute had been chewed up pretty good by the time I arrived, but Village Green still had decent snow. Newfound Ridge was sketchy, as was Lower Ridge once you got past the first roll. Wild Side still held up well, good piles of snow to catch and make a good run. Be watchful of the ices beneath, I think a poor snowboarder found them the hard way this afternoon. | |
