Comments | It appears the midweek rain beat up the ski area, but they had guns going throughout the day on Oblivion and Tippecanoe in effort to resurface. Conditions were initially good, but the steeps were scraped by lunchtime. Very little snowpack in the base areas around the lifts. Sel's Choice and Tommy's World Cup were closed for most of the day due to a race, but the ropes were dropped around 2 PM. Snow was recently made on Lower Sel's Choice and Upper Bobby's, so there was more of a packed powder surface on top of the hard pack on those.
Ciao skied nicely first thing, but was scraped by the time the afternoon rolled around. Guns were lined up on both sides of True Grit and had run (weren't running during the day), so it looks like this trail could be ready by next weekend.
While the White Peak Quad had lines on occasion (perhaps in part due to a less than optimal corral), all of the other lifts were ski on or a few chair (or platter) waits throughout the day, making for about 23K vertical over the course of 6 hours and allowing us to ski all of the open trails. The Northside and World Cup chairs were not running, the latter of which doesn't appear to have operated this year. |
