Comments | Considering the recent warm up and past rain, Loon has managed to recover pretty well and also have a majority of they're terrain open. South Peak was great at opening, Ripsaw was phenomenal, and lived up to its rating. Later in the day closer to lunchtime the trails were scratchy higher up, with decent snow still lingering closer to the bottom. Cruiser probably held up the best of all of them throughout the day. Gondola line started growing at a pretty steady pace throughout the morning, so we skipped riding it after a couple times and stuck to North Peak for a while. Edges could be set on Flume top to bottom, Walking Boss was a mess. East Basin trails were a lot of fun, Angel Street was the winner for me. Good snow, plenty of purchase on any white ice, and not too many people. Basin Street was in good shape as well. Upper Picked Rock had recent snow making on it. The whales that hadn't been pushed out were fun, but with caution! They were firm underneath, some could allow an edge to be set, but there were some serious patches of hard black and blue ice once you came over the top of them. West Basin/Kanc trails were in rough shape post rain and warmer temps. Lower Northstar was probably one of the best trails before lunch, along with Coolidge Street. Upper Speakeasy was great, Lower trails including Rumrunner were full of ice patches. | |
