Comments | Headed up to Wildcat (same ticket) after skiing at Attitash. Wow. Started off with the three top-to-bottom groomed/snowmaking runs (Polecat, Lynx, Catapult to Bobcat). Polecat was pretty crowded (and a little scratchy in places) with lots of novice skiers out of their element. Seemed like a lot of new-to-Wildcat skiers from what I could hear, courtesy the Peak and Epic passes. Tomcat chair was running with just about zero riders. Lynx was in decent shape, as was Catapult to Bobcat. Everything beyond Bobcat was closed, but the guns were blasting away, so presumably some of those lower mountain trails will open soon. After those three runs, I hopped onto the natural stuff, which was awesome. Maybe a foot or so of natural down low, and closer to three up high. Usual grass/rocks/waterbars to watch out for, but decent cover generally (though the pending rain will probably zap it). Tomcat Schuss was nice, as was a portion of Top Cat, Tomcat, Lynx Connection, Panther, and Lower Alley Cat. Fortunately the crowds were generally sticking to the groomers, so these were nice. Seemed like it took a minute or two to get on the high speed quad, generally because of the scanning/line management (no one pairing folks up, only one ticket scanner, and delays from baffled Epic passholders wondering why they needed to take out their RFID when they don't need to at the other Epic areas). | |
