Comments | Pretty decent offering of terrain for the second day of the season. Started on Bear Peak, which was a ghost town. Two runs off the top (Illusion, Morning Star), with snowmaking in progress around the Abenaki Quad (Snowdancer from the top is groomed out and ready to go), plus the interconnecting trails to Attitash. Both trails skied decently this morning. For whatever reason the Flying Bear was not running at full speed. I stuck with the Summit Triple on the Attitash side, which was running without a hitch (after being down for much of last winter). Three runs were open off the top, with Tightrope just about ready to open as well. Saco to Ammonoosuc was good, though a little crowded at the bottom (Flying Yankee was running, though it appeared to be having an issue; I avoided it and was glad I did when I stopped for awhile; looked like just Cathedral and Upper Highway connector were open off it). Idiot's Option was also open wall to wall, though a bit scratchy. Humphrey's Ledge and Northwest Passage skied well. Though a little busier than the Bear Peak side, this side was still pretty quiet with zero lift lines. There was nothing open between Cathedral and Far Out, however the fan guns were pounding that terrain and leaving some big piles, so it should be ready to go soon. Onward to Wildcat for a few runs via the same ticket... | |
