Comments | What an opening day, so much snow! Cyclone and East Wind open top to bottom (I bet Breeze is open tomorrow it was nearly finished). Lower Tornado and Squall Line aka the run-out were completely covered edge to edge in deep snow! The beginner areas & Bluster & Tubing Park (yes you can ski the tubing park area, must be largest beginner slope in the East right now). We took a ride up the Turbulence Triple aka The Valley and skied down Whisper. This is where the 1 to 2 minute lift line--first two hours more excited novices hit the slopes than Intermediates/experts! Lots of smiling faces. Snow conditions were amazing and it was nice easy turning on the loose granular well-groomed snow. We went into the ski shop, fun sale going on, lots of new hats and t-shirts and probably the best selection of goggles around. What a day! Good views from the top of the mountain and sunny sky--super opening day. Pats Peak will be open all weekend and close for the week reopening for the weekend. No Night skiing until after Christmas and daily operations begin mid-December. Charlie and I made first chair of the season. |
