Comments CommentsLocke Mountain Triple was running serving two upper mountain trails (T2 and Upper Sunday Punch), a crossover (Jims Whim), and one lower mountain trail (Sunday Punch to Lower Sunday Punch).

The mid-station is still open, resulting in the lift running slower than normal, and letting 1 empty chair go through the base terminal for every 2 filled (to allow for mid station loading). Lines were initially about 10-15 minutes at the bottom, growing to 20+ minutes when we left (faster in the singles line). Mid station load was initially a few chairs wait, eventually lining up to the new T-Bar top terminal when we left. Heard from multiple skiers that lines were around 40 minutes yesterday.

Heard they plan to start scanning lift tickets this year (they were visually checking today), which would enable direct-to-lift for Ikon Passes (e.g. Stratton). RFID is planned for next year.

T2 had good coverage, though there were a lot of golf balls. Jim's Whim also had good coverage (packed powder). Upper Sunday Punch had a few thin spots, occasional golf balls, and stretches of good packed powder/loose granular.

Sunday Punch had golf balls, while Lower Sunday Punch was nice packed powder (thanks to the fan guns).

Conditions were decent for the time of the year. It was particularly nice not to have the infamous early-season-snowgun-shower.

Barker Mountain Quad was spinning on occasion today (not open), but there is no snow leading to the bottom terminal yet. Jungle Road looks groomed out already, while there are piles on Ecstasy. Did not note any other manmade snow.

Nice sunny skies and mild temperatures just above freezing.
