Comments | My first time skiing in June!
Arrived at the mountain by 7:15. Crowds were already streaming in. Geared up and was in the lift line by 7:25. About 50-75 people were ahead of us. Loading of the lift was delayed until 8:30. By then the wait line extended way up the hill. T-Shirts were handed out to the first 500 patrons passing through the RFID gates.
The trail was groomed the entire width. The headwall was patched up. Ski on, ski off to start out the day. The snow was nice for the first run, but it was really crowded. Upon arriving at the bottom there was still a line up the hill for the lift. Had to slip slide down the hill in the line. The conditions were still ok for the second run down. After completing the second run I noticed a lot of people were leaving already. There was no lift line any more. By the third run the head wall was getting skied off. By the fifth run it was muddy slush with rocks exposed, many folks were walking down the sides. The rest of the trail held up ok all morning. Ended up doing seven runs and calling it for the season. |
