Comments | The only ski lift still operating in the Eastern US is Superstar at Killington. The only trail still open is also Superstar. Nice weather today. Sunny to start out, then got cloudy. Temperatures were mild. The snow coverage is still good. Mostly soft spring snow, but some of the "World Cup Ice" is starting to show up. Complete top to bottom skiing on and off the lift is projected throughout the weekend. There is a bare spot emerging on skiers right of the ess curve, but the trail still has plenty of width. Superstar was groomed down the middle to start the day. It quickly got bumped up as the morning progressed. Today was day 206 of the operating season at Killington. No closing date has been announced yet. June skiing appears to be very possible! Lift tickets were $70 if purchased on site, cheaper online. The Guest Services office in the K1 Lodge was closed, tickets were being sold downstairs at the sports shop. I was still able to use my ICON pass for direct to lift access. Lots of great mogul skiers were out there again today! Lots of folks tailgating in the parking lots and along the road. Quite an exciting scene to experience. The first two sections of parking below the K1 Lodge are mostly closed off. Construction activities for the new K1 Lodge has started. The lodge will be built in this parking area space. The existing K1 Lodge will remain in operation for the 2019/2020 season, with the new lodge going into service for the 2020/2021 ski season. | |
