Comments | Last day of the season at Sunday River, so tickets were free (they handed them out to you as you got onto the lift). Lift line was never more than a few chairs. Initially firm this morning with snow flurries, so ungroomed trails were on hold. Lazy River had good coverage, dumping into Risky Business (decent coverage), then Tourist Trap (single cat width). Right Stuff was generally wall to wall with only a few bare spots. T2 and Upper Sunday Punch were groomed (to the top of Locke, but we didn't hike up) with decent coverage. Cascades and Monday Mourning had some large bare spots, but still enough coverage to ski just fine. Lower Sunday Punch was mostly wall to wall. Jungle Road, Ecstasy, and Lower Upper Cut had good coverage, the latter skiing the best. Upper Cut between Jungle Road and Ecstasy was firm bumps this morning, so not too much fun. Top Gun had many areas of wall to wall coverage, as well as a couple of chokepoints. Firm up top, but soft in the flats down low. Agony was also firm up top and had a few chokepoints (including the pipeline crossing), but the bottom was soft (a few narrow areas). Southpaw was my favorite run of the day, as it had wall to wall coverage (only a few barespots with deep base elsewhere) and nice soft bumps around lunchtime. | |
