Comments | Next to the last day of the season, Loon closes tomorrow. The Annual Pond Skimming contest was held today. The Gondola and North Peak lifts were operational today. All trails serviced from these two lifts were still open. Soft and deep snow coverage from edge to edge on all open trails. The few icy spots were soft and edgeable. Flume and Angel Street were nice and soft from top to bottom. In the West Basin it was still possible to ski on Rampasture, Blue Ox, and Picked Rock with a cut through path open back to the gondola. These trails had low traffic volume as not everyone realized they were open. There was some fog lingering around in the morning for a couple of hours, mostly in the valleys. Was very scenic. It was a warm day in the upper 60's with no jacket or ski pants required. Skied the very last chair on North Peak, the lift shut down as I departed. It was a great day, I would have stayed longer if it was possible. | |
