Comments CommentsAttitash side is a bit limited right now, as the Summit Triple is down for repairs again. Everything on the Bear Peak side is open, however.

Started at lunch time on Bear Peak, taking a few laps off the HSQ. The very top was scratchy, but Avenger and Illusion were edge-able thereafter. Wandering Skis was a bit congested, as its the only 'easy' down. Kachina Falls wasn't bad, in part because I think people were fooled by an ungroomed sign.

I then moved over to the Abenaki Quad. Upper Kachina was bumps, but not terrible. Mythmaker and Snowdancer were scratchy, but one could get in an edge.

I then moved over to the Kachina Triple, waiting for the early afternoon rush on the HSQs to pass. Trillium was good (got it just in time, as it closed for race training around 1ish). My first time on Quiver...natural bumps, neat trail (up on a ridge).

After a few runs on Abenaki/Kachina, I headed over to Attitash. Pretty much all of the intermediate/expert fall line groomers were rather scratchy late in the afternoon. I think I preferred the ungroomed stuff, like Grandstand. A lot of the terrain was inaccessible due to the triple being down and the Top Notch Double being removed. Did note some folks hiking up and getting powder earned turns.

Upper Middle Ptarmigan was closed. Upper White Horse and Northwest Passage were icy. Last run before returning to Bear Peak was on Councilor's Run, which had decent packed powder conditions.
