Comments | Great trip with fresh tracks all morning. Snow started around 9 and picked up quickly offering excellent conditions without getting too overwhelming. Rip Gorge was in great shape, along with many of the Penobscot side of the mountain. Only lower mountain lift was running, upper mountain lift and hotel/lodge was still abandoned. They are trying to raise support and funds to reopen the lift to service the upper mountain. Snow cat rides are available to take a ride to the top for views, unsure if one could get permission to ski down.
Powder was amazing when we left, could have served for plenty of fun if it weren't for scheduled return travels in the storm. |
