Comments | Only Mohawk lift, which accesses a pair of Greens, was open when I arrived at 10:15. Polar and Minuteman finally opened around noon, after protracted de-icing from last night's storm. They didn't mention that in this morning's Snow Report. Maybe the locals knew anyway, because I've never seen a smaller crowd. I got a great parking space by the lodge. Or maybe the locals knew conditions would be Thick Fog and Mist, which rendered goggles and eyeglasses unusable. I would have been worried about collisions but you can't run into people who aren't there.
They must have made a lot of snow when it was cold as they still have full coverage despite all the recent rain and warm temperatures. There were patches of slushy ice but also enjoyable stretches of freshly groomed, mostly frozen granular.
