Comments | 52 of 61 trails were open today. Conditions were quite good today considering the monsoon that passed through the region on Thursday. Snowmaking and grooming efforts turned things around fairly quickly. There were some icy spots to watch out for though. In particular Bear Claw Extension was very icy in the narrow chute that curves around Loon Peak. Upper Walking Boss had huge snowmaking whales on skiers left. They were soft enough to be fun to play around on. Lower Walking Boss also had recent snowmaking, but it was all groomed out and skied nicely. Upper and Lower Flume were in good shape. It started to snow around 11 AM, and continued through the afternoon. Conditions seemed to improve a bit in the afternoon with the new snow. The parking lots filled up early, but the lift lines at North Peak and the Kank quad were never more than a couple of minutes. After noon the lines were even shorter. Hoping for more snow Tuesday - Wednesday. If that happens the mountain will be back in great shape. |
