Comments | All 61 trails were open today, and all lifts were running. Despite the cold temperature the main parking lot was full by 8:10. The 27" of snow that fell over the past week was all groomed in and conditions across the mountain were smooth, grippy packed powder. It was quite windy on North Peak in the morning. The wind was blowing strong up Flume and Sunset trails. I went over to South Peak where there was less wind. The only icy spot on the entire mountain was on the upper headwall of Ripsaw trail. After the headwall was passed, the remainder of Ripsaw was fine. South Peak was the place to be today as the crowd was much thinner there and the lift line was short. Went back over to North Peak in the afternoon after the wind had calmed down a bit.
The Red Bull Crashed Ice competition was going on near where the tubing trails are. Some of the run was under the Seven Brothers Lift, and could be viewed from the lift ride. |
