Comments | Clear sky, sunny day. Great views of Mt Washington from the new Gondola cabins. Cold temperatures; 3° F to start, only warming up to the teens. Snow condition was very hard and skied fast. Much firmer than I expected to find. Some icy spots. The cold temperature kept the lift lines short, and the gondola line long. Skied mostly off the North Peak and West Basin lifts. Lower Northstar opened today, but coverage looked thin. All other open trails have good coverage. There was a broken down grooming machine on skiers left side of Lower Walking Boss. A small amount of hydraulic fluid was visible in the snow uphill from the groomer, not a big deal. Snowmaking started on South Peak, so that area may open soon. |
