Comments | Watched the forecast and radar and saw that the rain would be tapering by lunch time. $35 tickets were still available online, so I bought one and headed up. Last year's RFID cards are no longer valid, but this year's are free. Cannot mention enough how great it is that Route 49 is now 50 miles per hour.
Two top to bottom runs open off the quad: Upper Bobby's and White Caps, then Upper Sel's Choice to Tommy's World Cup or Terry's Trail to Old Tecumseh to Lower Sel's Choice, both going through the Pasture back to the lift. Apart from a couple of thin spots related to the weather, both routes skied very nicely this afternoon. Wall to wall coverage with spring like conditions, but nothing choppy. I had only planned to ski half a dozen runs, but ended up at 9 before calling it a day. No lines and just about the only skiers were BBTS groups.
Looks like more terrain will be opening shortly. Utter Abandon already has large whales, so that will probably open top to bottom soon. Noticed guns hosed up and ready to go on other trails as well. |
