Comments CommentsAmazing snow conditions for November. A bit crowded late in the morning, but otherwise manageable. Good and occasionally windy, but no wind holds (apparently most of the lifts were affected by windhold yesterday).

Snow report's claim of upper Locke being open was an absolute lie. The triple was not scheduled to operate, so there was no way to get to Bim's Whim/Salvation/Heats Off/etc. Not only that, but what could be accessed of Jim's Whim and T2 were closed all day for racing.

From the Barker Mountain Quad, Upper Sunday Punch was good, as very few people were using the terrain park. Upper Cut (natural) was iffy, but upper Goat Path (natural) was okay (closed after Ectasy). Ectasy was scraped by the afternoon. Monday Morning boilerplate. Sunday Punch was terrible - the wet snow they made a week and a half ago groomed into a sheet of ice. Cascades was good in the morning. South Paw (natural) was good, though two waterbars were tricky. Crossbow (natural) probably should be closed. Rocking Chair was natural and decent, though the waterbars could be tough. Right Stuff was great first thing in the morning...not sure how it aged. Did not venture down Top Gun, as it looked rough from below. Lazy River skied nicely. Three Mile Trail (natural) was decent.

On Spruce Peak, Risky Business was narrow up high; they will probably need to hit it with snowmaking to get it to regular season shape. American Express was decent. Did not venture onto Downdraft (natural), as it looked rough. Sirus and Lights Out were fine.

North Peak was poor pretty quickly due to only have two main trails open, one of which wasn't groomed. Downdraft Extension to Grand Rapids (upper Grand Rapids had recent snowmaking, but was closed) was a sheet of ice. Escapade was ungroomed but okay to start, but rough by lunch. Pretty much everything accessible from the South Ridge Express skied fine. Looks like they just wrapped up snowmaking around North Peak and South Ridge, so I suspect a lot more should be open this weekend.

Other than Borealis (good), Aurora was ungroomed. Northern Lights was covered in large snowmaking whales and was a lot of fun. One whale near the bottom had a hidden sheet of ice that was resulting in a lot of wipeouts, but was avoidable if you knew where it was. Did not venture onto Airglow or Black Hole, but they were initially powder (but looking a little rougher later). Second Mile to Sensation was open in the afternoon, ungroomed snowmaking that was skiable without too many surprises. Paradigm was closed, but covered in whales.

Snowmaking shifted during the day to Roadrunner (e.g. to Whitecap base) and Cyclone (e.g. to Jordan base).
