Comments | Similar amount of terrain open today as compared to last Thanksgiving Day, but it looks like they could close to double their open terrain by the weekend. Nice to be able to wear the Ikon Pass as a scannable pass direct to lift on the lower mountain and not need to have it out on the upper mountain. Four ways off the top - Black Bear, Polar Bear, Upper Tamarack (with Bear Bottom also open), and Frank's Fall Line. Polar Bear had a few avoidable thin spots, but otherwise there was good packed powder base on all. Snowmaking in progress on trails around Shooting Star 6. New Snow Bowl lift looks like a lot of work is still needed before it opens. Only two lower mountain trails open today - Runaway and Yodeller. Yodeller had nice packed powder. Snowmaking in progress around Tamarack, Lower Standard, and other lower mountain trails. Not sure if I saw anyone riding the American Express lift due to the snowmaking and cold temperatures. Gondola lines were generally short. Ursa had very few riders. Apart from Black Bear and Yodeller, the trails were also fairly quiet. | |
